Lactic acid

Description

Food additive E270 – lactic acid. When used in foods, it prevents the growth of dangerous fungi and disease-causing bacteria, and prolongs the shelf life of foods.

It is because of these properties that this substance falls into the category of preservatives. Quite broad lactic acid is used in the production of yogurt, mayonnaise, cheese, kefir, and other sour milk, as well as in the production of beer and meat products. Commercially available lactic acid is 80% concentrated.
