Sodium bicarbonate

Description

Food additive E500 (ii) sodium bicarbonate also known as “baking soda”. This substance is used in food production as a stabilizer and emulsifier and as an acid regulator. Sodium bicarbonate improves the mixing of the products with one another, giving the dough elasticity and softness. It is widely used in the bread baking and confectionery industry, in the production of powdered milk, chocolate and marmalade.
